Illustration Friday: Parade

Here he is. When I think of a parade, I think of clowns.

I confess I didn't even draw this until Thursday, and rushed to get the coloring done on time. Somehow I've got to find more time to work on these.

Illustration Friday: Talisman

This is my very first post to the Illustration Friday. I had some big plans for this but never got around to it. I would have preferred to have some gems or some markings on the talisman itself. I almost didn't post it at all, but perhaps by doing so I will stay motivated to do more of these in the future.

I suppose I should hurry up and start posting here.

Here is one of the oldest pieces I've done. This was done back in November of 2004, with whatever version of Adobe Illustrator I had at the time (I think it was 8 or 9). It uses blends, gradient meshes, and transparency masks to give it the 3D feel.

I was just learning about vector graphics at this time and I was really excited that I could make something like this without using any Photoshop.

First post

Well well, I've finally done it. I've created a blog.

To be honest, this isn't my first one. I've had a couple in the past, but those were semi-anonymous ramblings that I have since abandoned.

This will be different, because instead of writing about the mundane happenings in my life, or going on about some philosophical view, I'm planning on mostly posting random graphic art that I've worked on. I've noticed there are many other illustrators out there doing this, and it seems like a good way to keep myself creative.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
